Why it matters

Locomotives don’t wait well

Rail operations run on tight schedules where one delay spreads through the system. When a locomotive needs fuel and the fuel isn’t there, the cost shows up in missed slots, crews on the clock and freight sitting still.

Locomotive fuel delivery solves the location problem. Equipment doesn’t stay in one place, and building a permanent fueling facility everywhere it stops doesn’t make sense. Our trucks bring railroad diesel directly to the locomotive, whether that’s a rail yard, a maintenance facility or a siding along the route.

It works for the planned and the unplanned. Scheduled fueling fits around your operating plan and maintenance windows. When equipment needs fuel at an unexpected location or time, our vendor network lets us dispatch from close to where your equipment is.

Safety on railroad property

Every railroad has its own rules for working near track. Before the first delivery we agree the site contact, where the truck can stage and the protection your rules require, so fueling happens safely and on time.

What we fuel

Locomotives, rail cars and the equipment that keeps track open

Railroad diesel for road and yard power, plus the maintenance machinery that works the line.

Locomotives

Road and yard locomotives fueled direct from the truck at yards, shops and sidings.

Switchers and yard equipment

Yard power and equipment fueled during operating windows that fit your switching plan.

Rail cars

Diesel delivered direct to rail cars that carry their own fuel tanks.

Rail grinders

Track maintenance machines fueled where the work gang is, not back at the shop.

Maintenance-of-way equipment

Tampers, regulators and other MOW machinery along the line.

Support vehicles

Hi-rail trucks and support vehicles, with clear diesel and DEF where needed.

We serve rail yards and maintenance facilities, freight rail operations, maintenance-of-way operations, and emergency refueling nationwide.

Where we fuel

Four places railroad fueling happens

We bring the fuel to the equipment instead of moving the equipment to the fuel.

In the rail yard

Direct-to-locomotive fueling during scheduled stops, coordinated with your yard plan.

At maintenance facilities

Locomotives and equipment fueled while they’re in for service, so they leave ready to run.

Along the route

Fuel delivered to sidings and access points where equipment is staged.

With the work gang

Rail grinders and MOW equipment fueled at the work site so track windows aren’t lost to fuel runs.

FAQ

Railroad fuel questions

Can you fuel locomotives directly from the truck?

Yes. We deliver diesel directly to locomotives and rail cars without requiring on-site storage, at rail yards, maintenance facilities or along the route.

Can locomotives use dyed diesel?

Yes. Diesel used in trains is an off-highway use, so locomotives can run on dyed diesel. Hi-rail trucks and support vehicles that also travel on public roads need clear diesel, which we deliver and invoice separately.

Do we need to install a fuel tank?

No. Our team brings fuel directly to locomotives and equipment and moves on. There are no tanks, no long-term storage and no infrastructure investment required.

Can you fuel maintenance-of-way equipment along the line?

Yes. We fuel rail grinders, track maintenance equipment and MOW machinery where the work is happening, so crews don’t lose track time to fuel runs.

What happens when a locomotive needs fuel unexpectedly?

Call 800-720-4546. Dispatch is staffed 24/7, and our nationwide vendor network lets us dispatch from close to your equipment.

Can you coordinate fueling across several yards?

Yes. We coordinate rail yard fuel delivery across multiple locations with one dispatch line, consolidated billing and consistent service standards.
