Solar & renewables · Construction fueling

Solar farm construction fueling out where the road ends.

Wet-hose fueling for excavators, dozers and pile drivers spread across hundreds of acres, rental tanks at the laydown yard, and the same supplier on the next project, wherever in the country it lands.

  • Mobile fueling across large, remote build sites
  • Rental tanks for one month to 15+ month builds
  • One supplier from coast to coast, project after project

Why it matters

The site is huge, remote and changes every week

Utility-scale solar is built on land chosen for sun, not for access. Sites sit on remote hillsides and open ground that need terracing and heavy earthwork, with dirt access roads that move as the build progresses. A machine at the far end of the array can be a long drive from anything.

That makes the fuel run expensive. If every dozer and pile driver has to travel back to a tank to refuel, you lose hours of production a day. Solar fuel delivery flips it: our truck drives the site and fuels each machine where it’s working, and rental tanks at the laydown yard cover everything else.

Then the project ends and the crew moves to the next one, often in another state. FuelGo’s nationwide network means the same fuel program follows you, with no new vendor to find and onboard each time.

Fuel delivery to heavy equipment on a solar farm construction site

Plan for access, not just gallons

The first question dispatch asks on a solar job is how the truck gets to the equipment. Tell us about access roads, gate locations and ground conditions up front, and deliveries don’t stall at the property line.

What we fuel

Every phase, from grading to energization

Equipment changes as the project moves from earthwork to racking to electrical. The fuel program changes with it.

Site prep and terracing

Excavators, earthmoving equipment, bulldozers and graders doing the heaviest burn of the project.

Foundations and framing

Pile drivers and support equipment setting the foundations for racking and trackers.

Panel installation

Telehandlers, cranes and lifting equipment moving and mounting modules across the array.

Concrete work

Concrete trucks and pumps for inverter pads, equipment foundations and substations.

Electrical and access roads

Trenchers and road-building equipment for collection systems and site roads.

Generators and vehicles

Site generators for offices and tools, plus construction vehicles and trucks.

We fuel utility-scale solar farms, commercial solar installations, community solar projects and other renewable energy infrastructure.

Fuel tank rentals for solar construction

Storage that moves with the build

Solar sites need temporary storage that can be repositioned as work moves across the property.

FuelCube portable tanks

Double-walled and moved by forklift, in 250, 500, 1,000 and 1,800 gallons.

Towable trailer tanks

500 and 990 gallons on a trailer, towed to wherever the active work area is this week.

Pump options

Battery-operated and gas-powered pumps for sites with no electrical power during construction.

Flexible terms

Monthly billing from one month for a quick project to 15+ months for an extended build.

How it works

Setting up a solar project

  1. Step 01

    Share the project

Location, acreage, phases, equipment count and construction schedule.

  2. Step 02

    We plan the site

Tank placement, wet-hose rounds and truck access across the property.

  3. Step 03

    Confirmed windows

Delivery windows confirmed before each visit, timed around shift start.

  4. Step 04

    Next project, same program

When you mobilize to the next site, we set it up the same way.

FAQ

Solar farm fueling questions

Can your trucks reach a solar site with only dirt access roads?

Hard-to-reach sites are a normal part of solar work. Dispatch confirms access roads, gates and ground conditions with you before assigning the truck, so it can reach equipment across the property.

Can you set up fuel storage at our laydown yard?

Yes. We rent FuelCube portable tanks in 250, 500, 1,000 and 1,800 gallons and towable trailer tanks in 500 and 990 gallons, with battery-operated or gas-powered pumps for sites without power.

How long can we rent a tank?

Rental terms run on monthly billing, from one month for a short project to 15+ months for an extended build.

Can you follow our crews to the next project?

Yes. Solar contractors move from coast to coast, and our nationwide network means we can set up the same fuel program at your next site without you finding a new vendor.

Do you offer renewable diesel for solar projects?

Yes. R99 renewable diesel is a drop-in replacement for petroleum diesel with no engine modifications, which suits developers who track construction emissions.

What happens if a machine runs low mid-shift?

Call 800-720-4546. Dispatch is staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, and emergency fuel delivery is available so the build stays on schedule.
