Border bridges, Fort Bliss and 100°F summers in El Paso

Serving El Paso County

In El Paso, diesel demand starts at the river. The Ysleta-Zaragoza port of entry handles about 1.3 million cargo trucks a year. The Bridge of the Americas also carries commercial traffic, but its commercial lanes are scheduled to close in fall 2027. The city is already funding studies to prepare Ysleta-Zaragoza for that shift. El Paso has one interstate, I-10, so Loop 375 is the real freight ring.

Fort Bliss is the other anchor. Home of the 1st Armored Division, it covers about 1.12 million acres across Texas and New Mexico. Its construction, maintenance and support contracts keep off-road equipment and generators busy around the post. See our military and government page.

Heat, freeze and the grid

El Paso’s climate is hard on fuel at both ends. In 2023 the city recorded 44 straight days at 100°F or hotter, a record. Heat like that ages stored diesel in above-ground tanks. It also keeps reefer trailers running hard while they wait at the bridges.

Winter can be worse. In February 2011 El Paso stayed below freezing for 78 consecutive hours. Equipment froze at El Paso Electric’s Newman and Rio Grande power plants, and the plants shut down. The utility used rolling blackouts. That’s the scenario standby generators are for, and it’s when they need fuel.

Mobile fueling or bulk delivery: which fits your El Paso site?

Three delivery formats. We’ll quote whichever fits your volume, site access and cost target.

Wet-Hose Fueling
Mobile fleet fueling
Overnight or day shift, fuel direct to each tank
A driver pulls into your yard after hours, fuels every truck or piece of equipment directly, logs each fill, and clears out before your crews arrive. No staff required on site.
Best for: Trucking fleets, delivery yards, rental fleets and service vehicles.
Tank Wagon Delivery
On-site tank fills
20 – 4,400 gallons per drop · same-day or scheduled
A smaller delivery truck fills your day tank, jobsite bulk tank or generator. The flexible option when volume varies or site access is tight.
Best for: Construction sites, generator refills, day tanks and smaller bulk storage.
Transport Load
Bulk transport delivery
Full transport loads to 7,500+ gallons · scheduled
Tractor-trailer delivery straight into large bulk storage. The lowest cost per gallon for high-volume buyers.
Best for: Data centers, large industrial sites, agriculture and rail yards.

El Paso fuel delivery questions, answered

Do you deliver to cargo yards and carriers near the Ysleta-Zaragoza and BOTA bridges?
Yes. We wet-hose tractors and yard trucks overnight with clear on-road diesel and DEF at yards serving the border crossings, so trucks start the shift full instead of waiting at a fuel island on Loop 375 or I-10.
Can you fuel contractors working on or around Fort Bliss?
Yes. We deliver dyed off-road diesel to construction equipment and generators for contractor sites in Northeast and East El Paso. Access to the installation is controlled by the base, so confirm gate and badging rules with your contracting office before scheduling.
How does El Paso heat affect stored diesel and reefer fuel?
Long stretches over 100°F, like the 44-day streak in 2023, speed up fuel degradation in above-ground tanks and keep reefer units running hard. We offer scheduled reefer fueling, fuel polishing and lab fuel testing for tanks that sit through the summer.
What about freezes like February 2011?
El Paso stayed below freezing for 78 straight hours in 2011, and the local power plants went down. When a hard freeze is forecast, we can top off generator and equipment tanks ahead of it and talk through winter-blend fuel and additives.
Do you deliver fuel 24/7 in El Paso?
Yes. FuelGo dispatch runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, including nights, weekends and holidays. Call 800-720-4546 any time, or request a quote online and a dispatcher replies within the hour.
What fuels can you deliver in El Paso?
Clear on-road diesel (ULSD #2), red-dyed off-road diesel, gasoline, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) and R99 renewable diesel. Most customers combine two or more on the same delivery.
Do you deliver diesel to generators in El Paso?
Yes. Dyed diesel for standby and prime generators, on a refill schedule or as an emergency run during an outage. Generator fueling →
Do you offer mobile fleet fueling in El Paso?
Yes. We wet-hose trucks and equipment in your yard, usually overnight, and log every gallon by unit. Mobile fleet fueling →
Can you deliver bulk diesel to our tanks in El Paso?
Yes. Anything from 20 gallons to a 7,500-gallon transport load, into above-ground, underground or portable tanks. Bulk delivery →
How much fuel can you deliver at once?
Tank wagon deliveries run from 20 to 4,400 gallons per drop, and full transport loads to 7,500 gallons or more for large bulk tanks. Tell us your tank size and usage and we’ll recommend the right format.
How much is diesel tax in Texas?
On-road (clear) diesel in Texas carries $0.4497 per gallon in combined federal and state taxes and fees, and off-road (dyed) diesel $0.0053 per gallon, as of October 5, 2026. Sales and local taxes are extra where they apply. Using dyed diesel on public roads is illegal. See diesel taxes by state →
Do you offer emergency fuel delivery in El Paso?
Yes. If a generator is running low or a site is about to run dry, call 800-720-4546 and a dispatcher will confirm what we can get to you and when.
Can you set up recurring scheduled deliveries?
Yes. Most customers start with a one-time delivery and move to a recurring schedule, so tanks, generators and fleets are topped up before they run low, without anyone having to call it in.
Do you rent fuel tanks?
Yes. We rent diesel and gasoline tanks from 119 to 17,000 gallons, with pumps, meters and hose fitted, and refills on a schedule. See our fuel tank rental page for sizes.
Do you have smaller trucks for tight sites?
Yes. Smaller delivery trucks reach tight urban sites, parking structures and jobsites where a full-size tanker can’t fit.
What payment options do you accept?
Credit cards, ACH and checks. Credit terms are available for qualifying commercial accounts. Ask your dispatcher for details.
